Towards Roundhill
It was “that time” at Lake Tekapo. The lupins were in full bloom and it was hard to find a place to sit where you didn’t end up in another traveller’s photograph. So I picked my way along the lakeshore until I found a large boulder. On the other side of it I was able to find some solitude and a place to sit and sketch.
On this particular occasion I was drawn to the shapes of the mountains and trees across the lake from me. Roundhill looked so tranquil, and it was this sense of peace that drew me in and created an escape amongst the hustle and bustle of “lupin fever”.
